BC Named Favorite in CLC-I
BOSTON – After capturing the conference crown last spring and advancing to the 2023 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, Boston College has been voted the favorite in Division I of the Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC), according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Eagles (10-3), which lost in the first round of nationals to Utah Valley, grabbed four of the five first-place votes to vault three points clear of the field.
Northeastern (11-6) checks in at No. 2. The Huskies fell to Boston College, 13-9, in the CLC finals in 2023, but received an at-large bid to Round Rock. Northeastern gave eventual national champion Concordia its toughest game, bowing, 12-11. The Huskies were awarded the remaining first-place vote.
New Hampshire (6-7), which lost to Northeastern in the CLC semifinals, is slotted third in the five-team league while Connecticut (3-7) and Buffalo (0-10) round out the rankings.
With only five teams this spring, the CLC Division I will not receive an automatic berth to the 2024 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance. CLC teams are still eligible for at-large selection.
