ATLANTA – In leading Washington to a big, ranked conference victory over the weekend, Huskies’ sophomore attackman Blake Hardison is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 16.

Facing off against No. 23 Oregon in Eugene, the Anaheim, Calif., native willed the Huskies to an overtime victory against the Ducks.

Hardison scored a hat trick, which was finished off with the overtime game-winner, while also dishing out a trio of assists for the six-point afternoon.

He also chipped in with five ground balls.

“Joining the team this year as a sophomore, Blake has fit right in with both our offensive package and with the Husky lacrosse family,” said Washington coach Jack Cerchiara. “He’s an incredibly hard worker and a great locker-room guy. He is a dynamic dodger with excellent vision, leading the team in assists and points per game.

“Blake is a physical, dual-threat attackman with a near one-to-one goal to assist ratio. In addition to his goal scoring ability, he’s a tenacious rider and completely sells out to make the effort plays to support his teammates in the clear and ground balls.

"At UW, we ask our players to, first and foremost, focus one two things: first, the guy under the helmet. Are you playing your most effective game at 100 percent effort? Second, the guy next to you. How can you make your teammate better? Blake embodies that tenet.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Hardison will receive a Warrior EVO QX-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Ryan Fahs, Sr. – Temple
With a 17-point weekend, the York, Pa., attackman now owns the program career and season records for goals, assists and points.

Daniel Gaffney, Sr. – Virginia Tech
The Hokies locked up the top seed in the ALC South thanks to two goals, 12 GBs and dominant play at the dot from the Purceville, Va., FOGO.

George McGuirk, Gr. – Chapman
In a pair of ranked conference wins, the Madison, Conn., attackman combined for 13 goals and eight assists.

Luke Mikolajewski, Sr. – Cal Poly
The Mustangs clinched the top spot out of the WCLL South thanks to a four-burger from the Del Mar, Calif., product.

Cristian Reno, Jr. – Texas
In a 1-1 weekend, the Fredericksburg, Texas, attackman combined nine goals and six assists.

Ryan Schellin, Sr. – Purdue
The Colts Neck, N.J., attackman accounted for over half of the Boilers’ production against Indiana with four goals and a dime.
