ATLANTA – For helping Arizona State post a big win to stay in the conference tournament hunt, Sun Devil freshman Jack Rogers is the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending April 17.

Squaring off with archrival and No. 11 Arizona, the 12th-ranked Sun Devils leaned on their rookie from Dana Point, Calif., and Rogers came through.

When the game ended, Rogers had four goals and five assists as Arizona State rolled to a 16-9 victory in Glendale.

"Jack led our team in a must-win game against Arizona to keep our playoff hopes alive,” said Arizona State coach Justin Straker. “Jack has been asked to play both attack and middie this year, and he has risen to the occasion time and time again.

“Saturday’s performance was a culmination of all the hard work he’s put in this spring."

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Rogers will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

A talented scorer, the Chatham, N.J., kid was a playmaker against Dominican, scoring one and setting up eight others.

Daniel Gafney, FOGO – Virginia Tech
In two big Top 4 victories, the Purceville, Va., product combined to win 28-of-41 draws along with a 12 ground balls and a goal.

Nick McCall, Attack – Texas
The Wallingford, Conn., product buried seven goals to lead the Longhorns to a 16-15 upset of No. 1 Brigham Young.

Vinny Mercandate, FOGO – Florida State
The Sarasota native gave the ‘Noles 12 the possession advantage in a tight game against Georgia, going 12-for-15 at the dot.

Shayne Miciek, Midfield – Michigan State
The Brighton, Mich., product helped the Spartans wrap up the UMLC East title with a combined five goals and two dimes against WMU and Miami.s

Bradley Peterson, Attack – Northeastern
The rookie from Sherborn, Mass., buried four goals and set up a fifth, leading the Huskies to a 16-11 win over UConn.

Reed Seybolt, Attack – Pittsburgh
The hometown boy helped the Panthers win their rivalry game with West Virginia by dropping a six-pack on the Mountaineers.

Brad Thompson, Attack – NC State
The Wolfpack secured a spot in the ALC tournament thanks to two goals and four helpers by the Charlotte, N.C. product against ECU.

Sam Weis, Attack – South Carolina
In an overtime win against rival Clemson and an SELC first contest against Auburn, the Charleston, S.C., product amassed nine goals and three assists.
