Weekend Review

No. 1 Brigham Young: BYE

No. 22 Colorado: BYE

No. 12 Colorado State: Beat Western Michigan, 12-9.
The Rams hosted a pesky Bronco team Saturday afternoon on the Canvas Outdoor Turf. CSU jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and held a 6-2 lead at the half. WMU managed to make things interesting in the fourth, pulling within a goal of the Rams, however, their run would fall short. CSU was led by midfielder Nick Chastain and attackman Ryan Springer.

Texas: Beat Tulane, 19-6.
The Longhorns put up 19 against Tulane. The Green Wave managed to keep things close through the first quarter, ending at three apiece. Texas pulled away in the second, thanks to a massive day by sophomore midfielder Ari Weiss, who posted an 11-point (9g, 2a) outing. Texas put their foot on the pedal and put up 16 goals in the remaining three quarters.

The Longhorns improve to 3-2 on the year and enter a bye week before opening conference play against No. 12 Colorado State on March 13.

No. 17 Utah Valley: Beat Southern Utah, 29-2.
Utah Valley came off back-to-back bye weeks to face first-year program Southern Utah on Friday night. Both teams were focused on improving and both squads accomplishing their goals. The Wolverines had 16 different players find the back of the net. UVU improves to 3-0 on the year and heads into a spring break road trip to California.

Week Preview

No. 1 BYU:
The Cougars head to California for a tripleheader against No. 11 Cal Poly (2-3) Thursday, No. 23 Dominican (3-2) Friday and No. 19 Santa Clara (5-0) on Saturday. The country is eager to see top-ranked BYU back in action this week. All three opponents are dangerous, but the Saturday matchup at Santa Clara is the big one. Santa Clara is coming off a 10-9 overtime win over No. 4 Cal and will be eager to prove themselves again.

No. 22 Colorado:
The Buffs are back in action this week after what will be nearly three weeks off. Colorado hosts Texas Tech (1-9) Friday night and Nevada (2-3) Sunday afternoon at Kittredge Field. The Red Raiders have been outscored 141-42 in their 10 matchups this year. Colorado will be looking to put the Georgia loss behind them and improve to 2-1 on the year after this weekend.

No. 12 Colorado State:
CSU heads to the Lone Star State this weekend to face Texas A&M (3-1) Friday night and opens conference play against Texas (3-2) Sunday afternoon. The trip will give the Rams a shot to prove themselves against quality opponents and a chance at an early RMLC conference win, which will prove tough this year.

Texas:
The Longhorns open conference play this week, hosting No. 12 Colorado State (4-1) in Austin Sunday afternoon. This will be our first look at RMLC play, which will be a dogfight all season long. A great chance for Texas to notch a ranked win over the Rams, who will face A&M Friday.

No. 17 Utah Valley:
UVU also heads to California this week for the same tripleheader against No. 23 Dominican (3-2) Wednesday, No. 19 Santa Clara (5-0) Thursday and No. 11 Cal Poly (2-3) Saturday. This is a big week for the Wolverines as they face three stingy and talented squads. Santa Clara is playing extremely confidently after a big win over No. 4 Cal. Dominican always plays UVU tough and Cal Poly will have a day's rest between BYU and UVU. How will the RMLC fare in Northern California?

Weekend Review

Northwest Division

No. 12 Montana State: Beat No. 3 Utah State 10-8; Beat No. 14 Northern Arizona 12-10.
The Bobcats had a fantastic weekend in Logan, Utah, heading back to Bozeman with a pair of ranked wins and firmly in the driver's seat in the RMLC divisional race. It was a snowy weekend in Logan as the Bobcats beat Utah State in an hard fought and very physical RMLC matchup, 10-8. The Bobcats turned around and beat ranked NAU, 12-10, Sunday afternoon. Montana State named Matt Bess player of the game against NAU after three goals and an assist. He would finish the weekend with five goals and two assists.

No. 3 Utah State: Beat No. 14. Northern Arizona 7-2; Lost to No. 12 Montana State 10-8.
The Aggies hosted a pair of ranked opponents last weekend in what was six-straight ranked games .USU made quick work of NAU, 7-2, Friday night. Utah State greeted Montana State Saturday afternoon with blizzard-like conditions and the field had to be cleared as best as possible of recent snowfall.

The Aggies fell in a physical contest to Montana State, 10-8, and are now put in an awkward position in the RMLC race. The Aggies could potentially miss out on a RMLC tournament bid with losses to divisional foes No. 19 Utah and No. 12 Montana State. However, no one doubts the Aggies are a top team in the MCLA Division II rankings with a 5-2 record against ranked opponents.

Utah: BYE

Wyoming: Lost to Western Michigan 12-4; Game against Air Force postponed.
The Cowboys dropped a game to Div. I Western Michigan 12-4 and saw their Sunday conference matchup against Air Force postponed. Wyoming drops to 1-2 on the year with both losses against Div. I schools. Wyoming will see some difficult Div. II opponents this week in No. 14 Missouri State and No. 7 Grand Valley State.

Southeast Division

Air Force: Game against Wyoming postponed.

Colorado Mines: Lost to Denver-club 6-4 (scrimmage).
The Orediggers drop a scrimmage against Denver. Won’t hurt their record.

Fort Lewis: BYE

MSU Denver: BYE

Week Preview

Northwest Division

No. 12 Montana State:
Another big game for the Bobcats this week as they host No. 8 College of Idaho (4-0). This will be the second week in a row that Montana State gets a shot at a Top 10 team. The Yotes seem to have no sign of slowing down as they are outscoring opponents 100-17 this year. Can the Bobcats slow down the CoI offense that is averaging 25 goals a game?

No. 19 Utah: BYE
We won't see the Utes in action until March 16 against BYU.

No. 3 Utah State: BYE
The Aggies enter back-to-back bye weeks. Face Northwest Nazarene March 25.

Wyoming:
The Pokes travel to Missouri to face No. 14 Missouri State and No. 7 Grand Valley State. They face a tough task ahead against two talented squads.

Southeast Division

Air Force:
The Falcons welcome Fort Lewis (0-2) to the Academy to open conference play.

Colorado Mines:
Open conference play against MSU Denver (3-1) Friday night in Golden, Colo.

Fort Lewis:
Travel to Colorado to face conference foe Air Force (0-1).

MSU Denver:
Travel to Golden to take on Colorado Mines (0-2)
