CoI’s Howard Player of the Week
ATLANTA – The College of Idaho headed to Big Sky country over the weekend and returned to Caldwell with a pair of Top 10 victories thanks to the efforts of sophomore attackman Loy Howard, who was named the MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 13.
The Yotes battled No. 5 Montana on Saturday and thanks to eight goals and three assists from the Boise product, College of Idaho smashed the Grizzlies, 19-6.
The following day, the Yotes tangled with No. 8 Montana State. College of Idaho posted an 8-3 victory with Howard factoring in three of the eight goals with two markers and a dime.
“Howard was the heartbeat of a shorthanded offense,” said College of Idaho coach Alan Morgan. “He helped lead where we were short.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Howard will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.

The Eagles lost a 14-13 heartbreaker to UC Santa Cruz, but the Independence, Minn., product did his part, winning 27-of-30 faceoffs with five goals and 21 GBs.
Cole Herder, Attack – Minn.-Duluth
The senior from Cottage Grove, Minn., dropped five goals and two assists against No. 18 Bridgewater State on Thursday.
Alik Tuliau, FOGO – Cal State San Marcos
The Cougars stunned No. 15 Loyola Marymount thanks to the Newport, R.I., native won 19-of-22 faceoffs with 10 ground balls.
