MSU Denver’s Machado Player of Week
ATLANTA – After sparking MSU Denver to a pair of road victories in Nebraska, Roadrunner senior attackman Carter Machado has earned MCLA Division II Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 12.
MSU Denver opened the weekend on Friday night against Nebraska, and the Parker, Colo., product made sure the Cornhuskers didn’t have a chance. He buried seven goals and set up two others in the 25-7 victory.
Machado followed that up on Saturday with two more goals as the Roadrunners cruised past Creighton, 16-6.
“Carter is the anchor of this offense,” said MSU Denver coach David Leach. “He’s the lone senior on the attack, playing with his younger brother Joe. He has great field awareness, and always knows where to be given the time, score and situation.”
For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, Machado will receive a Warrior Burn XP-O – a $100 value – for his efforts. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
