Wake Forest Leads ALC-II Poll
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Three teams are bunched atop the 2022 Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) Division II preseason coaches poll, but it’s Wake Forest emerging as the favorite.
The Demon Deacons grabbed one first-place vote, but amassed 28 total points to sit in the top spot.
Following Wake Forest in a tie for second with 26 points are Elon and UNC-Charlotte. The Phoenix garnered one first-place vote while the 49ers grabbed a pair.
Appalachian State sits at fourth followed by Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers were also awarded two first-place votes, but couldn’t crack the top four.
UNC-Wilmington rounds out the list.
This is the first season that the ALC will have a Division II entity. With six teams, the ALC will have an automatic qualifying berth to the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, which will be held at the Round Rock (Texas) Multipurpose Complex from May 9-14.
