ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is excited to announce that PEARL will continue to sponsor the Goalie of the Week award during the 2022 season.

Each week this spring, an MCLA student-athlete in each division will earn the “PEARL Goalie of the Week” award for his outstanding work in the crease for his respective team.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with the MCLA for the 2022 season,” said Erin Hanson, founder and owner of PEARL and Guardian Sports. “Goalies put themselves in the line of fire every game and we’re proud to recognize their efforts.”

The winner of the PEARL Goalie of the Week honor will receive a custom printed PEARL X lacrosse ball, a variety pack of PEARL lacrosse balls – the official ball of the MCLA – along with a PEARL lacrosse ball bag, and a PEARL branded T-Shirt. The winner will also receive national recognition for his accomplishments.

“We are pleased to team up with PEARL for goalie recognition as we get ready to restart a full season,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “PEARL lacrosse balls are a great product. Partnering with PEARL again is a perfect fit for the MCLA.”

Nominations for the weekly award, which will run 15 weeks from Jan. 28 through the 2022 MCLA National Championships presented by New Balance, will be accepted from head coaches by Monday morning.

The recipients of the honor, who will be judged on statistics and quality of opponent, will be announced on Tuesdays.
