ATLANTA – Returning from a preseason foot injury to help Southern Cal post a pair of ranked wins at the Pac-12 shootout, netminder Theodore Cranley earns MCLA Division I PEARL Goalie of the Week honors for the period ending Feb. 16.

After getting his feet wet with two saves off the bench in a win over Washington State, the Summit, N.J., product stonewalled No. 7 Arizona State. He turned away 18 shots against the Sun Devils for the 12-8 upset.

On Sunday, the Trojans ran up against undefeated and No. 23 Oregon. Cranley was in the zone again, making 19 saves as USC took home the 11-6 victory.

In the three wins, Cranley made 39 saves against just 14 goals against – a gaudy 73.6 save percentage.

“Teddy is a leader for us on and off the field,” said USC coach Jake Van Nostrand. “He missed our first three weeks with an ankle injury, but when we announced that Teddy would start this weekend he had the full backing from his teammates.

“He played great and made a lot of saves we needed in a close game versus ASU. It’s impressive to see him performing like this after being out with an injury, and the rest of the team feeds off his performance and fight. He had a couple of big saves man-down against Oregon that helped us get momentum to build a lead. I’m very proud of the way he approaches every situation he faces and this is another example of how he rises to the occasion.”

For his efforts in earning the Pearl’s Performance of the Week, Cranley will receive a prize package from Guardian Pearl, a ball that lasts longer than the rest and never greases. Guardian Pearl is the proud partner of the MCLA.

Justin Alexandre, Sr. – Alabama
The Crimson tied had an 0-2 weekend, but Alexandre still shined, combining to make 56 saves in losses to No. 18 Clemson (12-4) and No. 1 South Carolina (12-8).

Nick Beattie, Sr. - California
The Bears took down No. 11 Concordia-Irvine and No. 7 Arizona State thanks to a combined 35 saves. His 18 stops against CUI was the difference in the 15-14 win.

Jacob Lotz, Fr. – Clemson
There were no jitters for the rookie against Georgia this weekend as Lotz made 15 saves (75.0 save percentage) in the 15-5 victory while gobbling up four ground balls.

Alex Oates, Soph. – East Carolina
The Pirates fell to Florida, 8-7, but Oates did all he could for ECU. He made 31 saves (79.5 save percentage) in the near miss.
