Rhode Island Atop CLC-II Poll
BOSTON – After winning the Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) Division II tournament last spring, Rhode Island is the pick to lead the league again, according to the preseason coaches poll.
The Rams (8-3) swept up four of the six first-place votes from the other conference coaches for the top honor.
Rhode Island edged out Bridgewater State (8-3), which was second with two first-place votes. The Bears won the regular season conference title in ‘19, earning them a bid to the 2019 MCLA National Championships sponsored by New Balance.
Stonehill (7-4), which stunned Bridgewater State in the semifinals of the CLC tournament, was slotted third, just a point ahead of Central Conn. State (10-6).
