LyneisFilm: Bears win WCLL Title
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Cal-Berkeley returned to Rancho Cotate High School in search of a repeat WCLL championship, but the Bears would have to overcome a pesky, confident Santa Clara outfit if they were going back-to-back.
Videographer Claude Lyneis was at the title tilt and put together a great highlight package for MCLA.us, which is below.
Santa Clara took an early lead, but it was short-lived as the dominant Cal offense, led by tournament MVP Jake Pistotnik, proceeded to overwhelm the Broncos and take the 17-9 victory.
Pistotnik finished with four goals and three dimes while Brendan Cook added five goals and two assists in the winning effort. Bears goalie Nick Beattie was credited with 13 saves.
Eight different Santa Clara players scored a goal, led by two from Keaton Collier. Matt Lencioni made 21 saves in the loss.
