Stonehill’s Marquis Has Commanding Week
ATLANTA – After helping the Skyhawks bounce back from a tough conference loss, Stonehill junior faceoff specialist Christian Marquis has earned MCLA Division II Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending March 31.
Stonehill defeated New Haven for the first time since 2013 thanks to the all-around efforts of Marquis. The Goffstown, N.H., product not only went 17-for-19 at the dot (89.5%), but also struck for four goals and two dimes in the a 16-8 win.
On Sunday, Marquis dominated the X, winning 14-of-16 faceoffs while adding a goal and two helpers in the Skyhawk’s triumph over Worcester State.
In total, Marquis went 31-for-35 (88.6%) on draws, scored five goals and set up three others. He also combined for 22 ground balls.
"Christian joined us this year as a junior and has had an immediate and tremendous impact on the team,” said Stonehill coach Joe McDonough. “He's a great example of what happens when natural athleticism meets hard work. He's always finding ways to improve and sets a great example for the rest of the team."
For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Marquis will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Ryan Henning, Fr. – College of Idaho
In the Yotes excursion to Ashland, Ore., they picked up two wins – one ranked – thanks to a combined 10 goals and six assists from Henning.
Luke Johnson, Jr. – Montana
The FOGO went a perfect 11-for-11 in the Grizzlies 6-5, overtime victory against No. 16 San Diego. Finished the week 18-for-27 (66.7%).
Jake Parry, Sr. – Grand Valley State
In a pair of ranked wins, Parry combined for 10 goals and five dimes as the Lakers improved to 6-1 on the season.
Tyler Thomasson, Jr. – Florida Gulf Coast
The Eagles swept Columbus State and Georgia Southern, with Thomasson leading the way with a combined eight goals and a dime.
