Duluth will draw the winner of the first-round contest between North Dakota State (4-6, 0-2), the third seed out of the West division, and Dayton (8-2, 1-1), the second seed in the East. The two teams met on March 30 in a neutral site contest won by the Flyers, 12-6.
Grand Valley State will face the winner of the opening round affair between East third seed St. John’s (5-4, 0-2) and West second seed St. Thomas (5-3, 1-1). These archrivals met on April 13 with the Tommies pulling out a 17-9 victory.
The finals will take place on Sunday, April 28 at 11 a.m. with the winner earning an automatic bid to the 2019 MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour, which will be held in Salt Lake City from May 6-11.
“Every single game at the UMLC Division II tournament features a Top 10 matchup, which obviously makes for some great lacrosse,” said UMLC director Derek Daehn. “Six of the last seven national champions have come from the UMLC, so this could be a preview of the national semifinals just like last year.”
Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children through college-age (with ID). Weekend passes will be available for $10 children/college and $20 for adults.
