BERKELEY, Calif. -- Virginia Tech visited Memorial Stadium last Friday in hopes of wrapping up its spring break to California on a high note by taking on top-ranked California. A late push came up short as the Golden Bears walked away with its perfect record intact after a 15-12 victory.

Leading 7-6 at halftime, Cal delivered the crucial blow in the third, outscoring the Hokies, 6-1. Jake Pistotnik had six goals to lead the way for Cal while Brendan Cook and Matt Dixon each added a hat trick and two dimes. Nick Beattie had 14 saves.
Noah Dewey had five goals and an assist in the losing effort while Hunter Capestany chipped in with four markers. Hunter LeClaire was credited with 13 saves.
