Atlanta Classic Includes MCLA Matchup
ATLANTA – The Atlanta College Lacrosse Classic will take place this Sunday at Grady Stadium and will begin with a compelling MCLA matchup.
Prior to defending NCAA Division I champion Yale squaring off with Michigan at 1 p.m., No. 3 Georgia Tech will take to the field against UConn at 10 a.m.
“We are excited to be a part of this great event located only a mile from our campus,” said Georgia Tech coach Ken Lovic. “Having the chance to share the field with three other high-level academic institutions like UConn, Yale and Michigan is exciting for our players. We want to showcase the high level of academic and lacrosse student athletes at Tech and in the MCLA. It will be a great day of lacrosse for the Southeast.”
Georgia Tech brings a 6-0 mark into the contest after recently knocking previously undefeated Texas A&M on Saturday.
UConn, which has been receiving votes since the preseason poll, is 1-2 after losing to No. 11 Virginia Tech by a goal and to No. 8 Liberty, 12-7.
The Yellow Jackets and Huskies last met in 2017 with Tech taking the 10-7 victory.
Tickets to the event range from $8 to $50 and parking passes are available for purchase at the Atlanta College Lacrosse Classic website.
The game will be streamed live by Crossfire TV.
