ATLANTA – After leading Michigan State to a pair of dramatic road victories, sophomore attackman Bennett Osterink has earned Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 11.

In the opener against No. 17 Minnesota on Saturday, Osterink connected for a hat trick. His third goal was the big one as it came with 1.4 seconds left in the game, giving the Spartans an 8-7 victory.

The next day against Division II No. 7 Minn.-Duluth, the Seminole, Fla., product buried another two goals along with an assist. Again, his last goal was critical as he again netted the game-winner – this time with 14 ticks left – for a 9-8 triumph.

For the week, Osterink scored five goals and dished out an assist, helping No. 13 Michigan State start the season 2-0.

“Bennett played a huge role in our success this weekend,” said Michigan State coach Cam Holding. “In both games we found ourselves tied up with less than 15 seconds to go and he was able to score to put as ahead both times.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Osterink will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Grant Schneider, Sr. – South Carolina
The attackman helped the Gamecocks go 3-0 on their Texas trip, including a win over No. 19 SMU. Schneider finished with six goals and five assists.

James Gates, Jr. – UC Santa Barbara
The Gauchos hammered No. 21 Sonoma State on Saturday thanks to a career-high four goals and an assist from Gates.

Shawn Tran, Fr. – Cal-Berkeley
The Bears took down No. 23 Texas and conference rival Chico State aided by two goals and nine dimes from the attackman.

Gavin Risby, Jr. – Chico State
The Wildcats lost to No. 3 Cal-Berkeley, 15-5, but it could have been a lot worse without Risby, who made 29 saves in the loss (65.9 sv%).

Garrett Brennan, Fr. - Clemson
The rookie exploded for a 12-point (5g, 7a) performance in a win over Florida before adding another four (1g, 3a) in a loss to Georgia.
