ATLANTA – Sixteen teams from two divisions will descend on the greater Johns Creek, Ga., area this weekend to decide the champions of the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference.

The winners earn an automatic bid to the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour in Orange County, Calif., from May 8-13.

The format of the tournament remains the same as years past with the top two teams from each division qualifying for the field and then matched up in a No. 1 seed versus No. 2 seed format (schedule below).

This year’s SELC tournament features numerous nationally-ranked programs.

In Division I, No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 11 Florida State, No. 12 Virginia Tech and No. 19 Liberty all carry a rank into the postseason while No. 11 Kennesaw State, No. 13 Palm Beach Atlantic, No. 20 Florida Gulf Coast and No. 21 Appalachian State are all rated.

“With half the field in both division comprised of ranked teams, the SELC tournament is once again going to be entertaining from start to finish,” said conference director Karl Staber. “We are an extremely deep league, meaning every game will be exciting. We invite all lacrosse fans to come out and enjoy the action.”

Adult weekend passes will be available for $20 and student weekend passes are $10. Day passes for adults is $10 and $5 for students. Students wearing a lacrosse jersey will be admitted free along with children nine and under. Directions to the various fields can be found with the online brackets for Division I and Division II.

The semifinal and finals of the SELC tournament will be available via USTREAM.
