ATLANTA – The Utah men’s lacrosse team posted the first big upset of the season and raced out to a 2-0 start through the efforts of sophomore midfielder Jacob Stout. As such, the Alpine, Utah, native earned the MCLA Division I Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour for the period ending Feb. 19.

The Utes kicked off their campaign against No. 1 and defending national champion Chapman, and Utah pulled off the 12-9 stunner thanks to a hat trick and an assist by Stout.

He followed that up on Saturday with four goals in a comfortable, 18-10 victory against Washington at the 10th Annual Pac-12 Shootout at UCLA.

“Jake is off to a good start for us,” said Utah coach Brian Holman. “Not surprising since he is a hard worker in the classroom, on the field and in the weight room. He's slowly but surely becoming one of our leaders.”

For his efforts in earning the Commanding Performance of the Week powered by Under Armour, Stout will receive a new Under Armour Command Head – a $100 value. Under Armour is the proud sponsor of the MCLA.

Under Armour Honor Roll

Ashton Monheiser, Sr. – Colorado State
The Rams powered past Dominican on Sunday evening thanks to a career-night from the attackman. Monheiser scored five goals and dished out for assists while also snagging a pair of GBs.

Sean Pihl, Sr. – Cal Poly
The Mustangs locked down a pair of offenses this week with Pihl as the lynchpin. He made 17 saves in a 5-3 win over Simon Fraser and backed that up with eight saves in a 4-3 triumph over No. 11 UCSB.

Cade Baily, Jr. - Oregon
The Ducks opened their season with a 2-0 mark bolstered by eight goals from the attackman. Baily buried six in a 9-7 win over SDSU and followed it up with two more in the upset of No. 1 Chapman.

Adrian Jeffries, Soph. – San Diego State
The Aztecs went 1-1 over the weekend against Oregon and USC with Jeffries amassing 12 points in the two games. He had a goal and an assist versus the Ducks before dropping 10 (6g, 4a) on the Trojans.

Aaron Silcott, Sr. – Florida
The Gators FOGO dominated the dot against South Florida, winning 23 of 24 draws. He would have had the sweep, but got dinged for a violation along the way.
