MCLA Endorses Stache Madness
ATLANTA – In its continuing effort to help its student-athletes make a positive impact both off the field and on it, the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) has endorsed the participation in the HEADstrong Foundation’s “Lax Stache Madness” initiative.
Lax Stache Madness encourages student-athletes, teams and supporters to grow or simply wear a mustache while raising funds to improve lives affected by cancer. Those MCLA programs interested in the campaign can visit LaxStacheMadness.com to register.
“MCLA programs have a long history of not only supporting HEADstrong, but numerous charities at the local and national levels,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “We feel growing a mustache is a fun way to help out those who are less fortunate.”
The campaign officially runs from Oct. 19 through Nov. 28. Team fundraising captains are encouraged to set up their team fundraising page and encourage their fellow teammates to join in their efforts. Teams set a fundraising goal before players use social media and emails to raise funds individually, which tally toward the team’s total goal.
As facial hair begins to take shape college teams begin to compete during the month of November leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. Teams will go head-to-head in a knock-out style fundraising bracket tournament to be named to National Lax Stache Champion.
