IMLCA to Sponsor Coaching Award
ATLANTA – The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA), the preeminent non-varsity league in the country, is pleased to announce that the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) will sponsor the MCLA’s Coach of the Year award in 2017.
The recipient of the IMCLA Coach of the Year and his staff will be honored at the IMLCA national convention, hosted annually each December in Baltimore. Coaches from all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse along with the junior college level are feted at the IMLCA convention, along with numerous USILA award winners.
“The IMLCA has played a huge role in making what our sport is today, so it’s fantastic to have them sponsor the MCLA Coach of the Year award,” said MCLA president Ken Lovic. “It’ll be exciting to see our coaches on the same stage with the other great college coaches across the country.”
In addition to this national recognition, the award winners in each division and his staff will receive a one-year complimentary membership to the IMLCA – a $100 value. There will also be an opportunity to give a presentation at the annual convention.
“Having the MCLA’s top coaches recognized by the IMLCA is a perfect fit,” said IMLCA president J.B. Clarke. “We’re a national organization that represents all collegiate coaches, so having MCLA coaches recognized with the rest of our membership makes sense.”
The IMLCA was established in 2004 to serve the intercollegiate men’s lacrosse coaching community and has been on the forefront of teaching, promoting and maintaining the growth of lacrosse across the country. To join the IMLCA, please visit the website.
