PNCLL Release D-I Awards
BOISE – It was a tight race for the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League (PNCLL) championship and the results of the conference awards illustrates that fact. The conference accolades were revealed this week.
Oregon State, which won the PNCLL title for the second consecutive year and earned a bid to the 2016 MCLA National Championship powered by Under Armour, placed three players on the 14-man first team All-PNCLL squad. In addition, senior goalie Nick Widner was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Oregon also had three representatives on the first team, while also snatching three major honors. Junior attackman Grant Clifford was named the Offensive Player of the Year, freshman attackman John Finegan was tabbed Rookie of the Year and Jon Bongiorno was Coach of the Year.
Four players from Boise State made the first team, with senior attackman Adam Smith named the PNCLL’s Most Valuable Player. Simon Fraser had three players on the all-conference first team, as well.
