Bridgewater State Named PCLL Faves
BOSTON -- For the first time in program history, Bridgewater State has been tabbed the team to beat in the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League's Division II after the preseason poll was released on Monday. The Bears were the clear pick in the PCLL, taking eight of the 10 first place votes.
Bridgewater State takes over the role of presumptive favorites after Briarcliffe, the defending conference champion, made the institutional decision to eliminate all of its athletic programs.
The Bears will receive its toughest competition from its Massachusetts neighbor Stonehill. The Hill was in second place, comfortably ahead of New Haven, which locked down the third spot. Southern Connecticut State was slotted into the fourth spot in the 11-team league.
